  Drawings of NEW Watchtower World Headquarters in Warwick, New York

  among the ammenities are a sand volley ball court, two tennis courts and a full basketball court.... there's also parking garages and picnic areas for visitors.... by the way, not sure exactly what this is but you'll notice a shaded area labelled "undergound chamber"... interesting.... (i wonder if moving out to the middle of nowhere was intended to keep bethelites from sneaking out at night and going to the liquor store... just saying).

  Looking further into the Civil drawings, I noticed the lack of a consultant who is normally hired to perform this type of analysis. Interestingly, there is a sole Professional Engineer reference (Harvey Castro), which is not impossible, but highly unusual - the hiring of a one-man show for a project of this size.

  Cross reference with the online NY license verification shows the following:

  If you are reffering to drawing CG104 (I didn't see Chamber anywhere else; please tell me where, if I've missed it), it looks like a part of the storm water management.

  When the natural runoff structure is disturbed, code requires the rainwater collected from rooftops and paved streets, that would have normally drained into the ground, to be managed before released into waterways.

  This is the reason you see pretty fish ponds and other water features around housing developments and office complexes. If all water is suddenly dumped into a nearby creek or a river, it creates the potential for flooding. Instead, the water is collected in some kind of a reservoir (fish pond, underground basin, etc. ) and then slowly released over time.

  this article from the newspaper in the latrobe area reffering to steven unthanks case is truly disturbing.

  its an affront and an insult to any and everyone who has participated in the ministry of jehovah`s witnesses over many, many years.talk about being thrown to the wolves.how low can this organization go in saving face at the expense of those whose loyalty and devotion is discarded for a perceived image.absolutely shocking.

  So, the franchise model, where all local branches are independently owned and operated, yet they follow the brand philosophy, was not really invented and made popular by Ray Croc.

  I think all franchise operators should be paying the WT licensing fees for it...

  Theists, why does God allow suffering..

  ..specifically, the suffering of animals.

  you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

  i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

  For now, do not even know how much money has been sold the Assembly Hall. They mantain absolute silence.

  JHK, are property transactions entered in some kind of public register?

  In the United States, these transactions are public information (with very few exceptions) and can be viewed by anyone who submits a proper request. Not sure how things are in Spain.

  on another forum, someone recently started a thread asking what sort of lifestyle the watchtower elite enjoy.

  it prompted me to do a little digging.

  when the leaflet 'dress and grooming for visitors touring bethel' was published a few years ago, i thought the room below looked familiar.

  One of the sisters (blog authors) says the following under a picture of their tour of Wallkill printery: "Watchtower Library is updated for Bethelites every month so they have the latest

  version of all the publications available to them. If only we had that!!"

  To which, somebody (ahem ) replied:

  "You already do sisters: www.jw.org.

  The newest publications are out there for the world to see...however, you should ask yourselves the question: "Why aren't the OLD publications available?"
  
  This is where it gets interesting. Check some Awakes from the late 60's - a wealth of information. Oh, wait the CDROM only goes back to 1970.

  i see from reading all the posts that many many people share my views on the whole jw thing and i'm so glad i can express myself without getting into problems with getting reported to the elders or something.

  Funny, I tried to register and it looks like at ~$7,000 a head it is an absolute bargain!!! How happifying!

  The $14,000 + all other expenses paid is exactly what sister reg.pioneer would expect her $15/month donation will go towards to. And should we mention that the spirit (no pun intended) of this summit is geared towards long-term goals.....
